Special Prize

20th century composers

This special prize will allow the candidates to discover more about the activities of the composition classes of the Shanghai Conservatory of Music where one of the first rounds of the 16th Orléans International Piano Competition will take place. The Shanghai Conservatory of Music has selected a series of works composed by its emeritus professors or by composition students.

The candidates will have to choose among the following pieces:
● Ruixin Liu, Ya Ding Caprice, 2021 (about 10 mins) – (Unpublished)
● Chenkang Ni, Silence Night Fantasy, 2022 (about 7 mins 30 secs) – (Unpublished)
● Jianzhong Wang, Capriccio, 2012 (about 8 mins) – (Published by Shanghai Music Publishing House)
● Liqing Yang, Themes from Nine Shanxi Folksongs for Piano, 1961 (about 8 mins) – (Published by Shanghai Conservatory of Music Press)
