Miharu Ogura – 2018

Miharu Ogura is the third finalist at the 13th Orleans International Piano Competition. Born in Tokyo, the young pianist is very involved in contemporary creation, as an interpreter and composer. Student in composition and performance classes at the Toho Gakuen Conservatory in Tokyo with Masahiro Ishijima and Yumiko Meguri respectively, she is the winner of several competitions and participates in the Stockhausen Piano Academy in Munich with Pierre-Laurent Aimard and Tamara Stefanovich in 2015. As a composer, she won in 2018, with Labyrinthe for piano, the Composition Prize “André Chevillion-Yvonne Bonnaud” at the International Piano Competition in Orléans. Her creations are not limited to the piano: Yuragi for double string quartet is created in 2016 at the Toho Gakuen Composition Conference.
