Maroussia Gentet won the ‘First Prize Blanche Selva’ of the 13th International piano competition of Orléans (France), in March 2018.
Admitted at age 13 to the Conservatoire national supérieur de musique et de danse (CNSMD) in her hometown of Lyon, she entered later the CNSMD of Paris to prepare the Artist Diploma (postgraduate degree). At the same time, she studied under Rena Shereshevskaya at the Ecole Normale de Paris – Alfred Cortot, graduating as a concert performer in 2015.
With enthusiasms for literature and both classical and contemporary repertoire, she completed last year the Artist Diploma degree, specializing in contemporary music and creation, and she is actually preparing a Master’s degree specializing in vocal accompaniment under Anne Le Bozec at the CNSMD of Paris. With her doctorate in research and practice, which is currently underway, she focuses her research on the work of Marco Strop, whose “magical world completely transforms the piano and opens it to unsuspected sonorities”.
After several concerts focused on Henri Dutilleux and his influences, she devotes her first CD – released in October 2016 with Passavant Music and the support of Assophie Association – to the piano music of the French composer, and to the music of Polish composer, pianist, and musicographer Karol Szymanowski. Passionate about sharing her art, she thrives in her collaborations with composers but also in teaching and on stage performing chamber music and multidisciplinary projects. She is part of Duo Eclypse with pianist Antoine Mourlas.
